Proma offers a unique solution of bumper beams featuring high absorption performances during impact vehicle crashes. This system is largely used in car production by several OEMs either onto front carrier beams, rear beams and more recently for pedestrian safety beams. The solution is so called "hybrid" as it blends in an appropriate way the use of steel and plastic parts. The AHSS or UHSS steel is used to provide the necessary stiffness to the carrier while the plastic honey-comb shaped parts are adopted for crash energy absorption. This combination is providing an outstanding energy dampening action resulting with a light weight and minor production cost.
